Specifications include, but are not limited to: A contract for maintenance (quarterly and annual service and inspections) and repair for emergency standby power (generators) owned, leased, or otherwise utilized by SCDOT Traffic Engineering ITS Field Office. Traffic Engineering ITS Field Office has an embedded system of seven (7) Caterpillar/Olympian and Onan brand generators located at various ITS HUB buildings throughout the state. The generators are used for backup and/or emergency power in the event of an electrical power failure. These generators will ensure that SCDOT’s Traffic Management Centers and staff can monitor traffic conditions on our interstates and provide real time assistance to emergency personnel, SHEP responders, and the motoring public during an electrical power failure. The generators also provide network connectivity and communications to traffic cameras, automatic traffic recorders, and changeable message boards statewide during planned and unplanned extraordinary events such as hurricanes, flooding, and evacuations. The maintenance and repair contract will guarantee the reliable availability of emergency standby power 24 hours a day/7 days a week. The contractor shall be required to furnish technicians, all necessary tools, parts, generator specific programming software, supplies, and materials needed to make the required repairs and/or preform quarterly and annual maintenance on all makes and models of generators statewide.
