Specifications include, but are not limited to: The project involves the Expansion of the Lexington County Edmund Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) Transfer Station located at 498 Landfill Lane, Lexington, South Carolina. The expansion includes the addition of an approximately 17,500 square foot building and tipping floor with two (2) trash chutes and transfer trailer loading bays, steel plate-covered reinforced concrete push walls, a pedestal crane and control center, construction of an enlarged transfer trailer parking area, installation of a new water well and abandonment of the existing water well, installation of an underground leachate holding tank, and construction of access roadway and stormwater management system improvements. The existing Transfer Station, which is immediately adjacent to the area where the new facilities are being constructed, will remain in operation during the construction activities, requiring close coordination and sequencing of the work by the Contractor to minimize impacting the ongoing MSW Transfer Station operations.
