Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this fixed price contract is to establish contracts for loading and transporting bulk rock salt from a 10,000 ton warehouse facility to various SCDOT maintenance facilities statewide. Contractors that meet the requirements of the solicitation may be added to the contract at any time during the life of the contract. Hauling Contractor to provide enough trucks and front end loader(s) to load and haul a minimum of 500 tons of salt per day to an average one-way distance of 80 miles. Work hours to be Monday-Friday 7:00 AM until 4:30 PM with extended hours mandatory in the event of an emergency. In the event of an SCDOT emergency need for salt deliveries, the contractor must begin work within 6 hours of notification. Hauling Contractor must be available to haul regardless of the weather if the SCDOT deems the highway route passable. Hauling Contractor will be able to keep equipment on SCDOT site for extended periods as long as actively working at least 4 days per week for a minimum of 2 weeks.
