Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this contract is to provide janitorial services at nine (9) Welcome Center Complexes located in the State of South Carolina. 1. The Welcome Center Complexes are to be maintained in a safe, attractive, clean, sanitary, and operable manner at all times. The Welcome Center Complex is defined as all structures and components located within the boundary of the property line currently managed by SCPRT 2. Currently the Welcome Center’s hours of operation are from 7:00 AM-11:00 PM, 365 days per year – including all holidays The state does not have a preference on shift start and end times as long as there is appropriate coverage at each location during the Welcome Center’s hours of operation. 3. Custodians will receive one 30-minute meal period and two 15-minute breaks pers shift. Adequate arrangements must be made so there is coverage when custodians take their breaks and at mealtimes. If short staffed, custodians may take their breaks but cannot leave the welcome center complex. 4. During the term of this contract, the hours of operation at the different Welcome Center locations may vary depending on the needs and/or circumstances. Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to, interstate closures, peak tourist seasons which require extended hours of operations, emergency site closures or emergency extended hours of operations. Notwithstanding variations in the hours of operations, the pay rates shall remain as expressed in your price proposal. 5. Services will be provided in strict compliance with the terms, specifications, conditions, and provisions contained within this Request for Proposal (RFP). 6. SCPRT may request a custodial employee perform other general light maintenance duties if SCPRT thinks the employee displays the ability to do so. For example, light bulb changes, treating the sidewalks during icy winter conditions, transfer of the daily literature and/or supplies.
