Specifications include, but are not limited to: The SCDE seeks to acquire a Professional Certification & Compensation System(PCCS) that will increase efficiency across the organization by automating the creation, tracking, retrieval, and reporting of educator certificates. In addition, the new solution will record, track, and report teacher supplemental compensation based on the educator’s certification credentials. A centralized repository for all certification and compensation information will reduce the number of independent systems currently in use to house and render this information to SCDE users, school districts, institutions of higher education, teachers, and applicants. The Office of Educator Services is responsible for the recruitment, preparation, and certification of educators. This unit supports a variety of programs that do just that. Whether focusing on the accreditation of educator preparation programs, recruiting and retaining great educators, or assisting schools and districts to ensure that teachers obtain appropriate certification, this office is committed to meeting the continuum of educator needs beginning at the pre-service level. The office is required to create, collect, process, and archive all supporting documents and information associated with educator credentials. Currently, a number of the processes within the Office are manual and paper-driven, requiring team members to manually log and document events and tasks and print supporting information to scan and attach to an educator’s case. The PCCS will be the system of record for educator information and related credentials, and will maintain both active and inactive educator records and will provide educator data via interfaces to multiple applications.
