If it maintains the shape of a ball and sticks together then you may not need to apply all 20 gals of water to the tree. • All newly planted trees shall receive 20 gals of water weekly weather dependent. • Step drilling around the tree and root ball with a 1” auger bit at the following depths 6”, 12” and 18 “. • At the time of watering, pull any mulch away from the tree trunk to make the tree root flare visible. • Prune off any low branches that are affecting citizens from walking on the sidewalk. • Removal of all sucker growth from the trunk and or base of the tree shall be removed at the time of watering.
