The South Carolina Department of Transportation (SCDOT) is soliciting bids for the provision of 6-inch Full Depth Asphalt Patching services in Cherokee County. Contractor shall provide material, labor and equipment necessary to haul, place and compact hot mix asphalt for full depth patch, leveling, bridge approaches, and resurfacing at various locations throughout Cherokee County. The price for each type of mix should include all labor and equipment necessary to haul, place and compact each mix. The price should include all tack material. For full depth patching SCDOT will remove and prepare area to be patched by milling or saw-cut to the appropriate depth. Asphalt placed at 6 inches or thicker shall be placed in 2 or more lifts. This work will be accomplished on an as needed basis as directed by the Resident Maintenance Engineer (RME). A pre-construction meeting will be held prior to each project. SCDOT will provide traffic control for each project. This contract will be used on an as needed basis. Quantity used will depend on varying factors including, but not limited to, weather, funds availability, labor force and material availability. Minimum project will consist of at least 20 tons of materials. One Mobilization will be paid for each location to be paved. For patching and paving operations if the paver must be moved more than 1 mile in between patches without paving a mobilization will be paid for each move greater than one mile.
