Specifications include, but are not limited to: The intent of this project is to solicit bids for annual landscape maintenance contract for a portion of the Winthrop University main and Farm campuses for July 1 2022 to June 30 2023. Level of service shall be comparable to APPA level 2-3. Quote for service shall include all labor, material, equipment, insurance, required licenses, background checks, badging, fees, disposal, parking or any items required to work at this location.; a. Turf grass Maintenance Specifications: i. Mowing: 1. Schedule of mowing is determined by the type of turf being serviced and adjusted to coincide with seasonal growth rates to maintain a consistent, healthy appearance. Scheduled cuts missed due to inclement weather will be made up as soon as possible.; 2. Contractor is expected to finish mow all turf areas on a weekly basis during our growing season and as required during the winter. Turf is a mixed type of grasses and will not be over seeded with Rye.; 3. Mower blades will be kept sharp at all times to prevent blade tearing.; ii. Edging & Trimming: 1. Contractor will neatly edge and trim around all plant beds, curbs, streets, trees, buildings, etc. to maintain shape and configuration. Bed edge boundaries should be defined and grass and weeds should be removed or eliminated in bed/mulch areas.; 2. Edging equipment will be equipped with manufacturer's guards to deflect hazardous debris.; 3. All walks will be blown after edging to maintain a clean, well-groomed appearance.; iii. Debris Removal: 1. Prior to and after mowing, each area will be patrolled for trash and other debris to reduce the risk of object propulsion and scattering, excluding areas concentrated with trash (e.g., dumpster zones, dock areas, and construction sites).; 2. Landscape debris can be dispose doff at the Farm grounds debris areas; 3. Trash to be bagged and disposed of in campus dumpsters or trash cans.; b. Plant Maintenance: i. Insect, Disease and Weed Control: 1. Plants will be treated chemically as needed to effectively control insect infestation and disease as environmental and horticultural conditions permit. Contractor will offer suggestions regarding the best course of action.; 2. Open ground in plant beds will be treated by manual or chemical means to control weed pressure as environmental, horticultural, and weather conditions permit.; 3. Contractor will maintain a log listing all applications and will have SDS sheets available for each product used on the Owner’s property.; c. Leaf fall: i. During leaf fall season mow, mulch, blow, collect leaves and dispose of the collected debris campus at the Farm Grounds debris area; d. Parking/drives and sidewalks: i. The parking areas, roadways and sidewalks shall be blown at each service visit to remove clippings, leaves, dirt and dust.; ii. During blowing trash Landscape debris can be collected and disposed of at the Farm grounds debris areas. Trash to be bagged and disposed of in campus dumpsters or trash cans.; iii. Service of parking areas, drives and sidewalks shall be timed to avoid conflicts with vehicles and pedestrians.; e. Annual Flowers: i. Winthrop will plant annual and perennial flowers in the beds and will communicate with the contractor so they are aware.; ii. Fungicides and insecticides will be applied as needed to maintain healthy planting beds.
