The District is a publicly owned utility created in 1972 by an act of the South Carolina State Legislature, governed by a Board of Commissioners that provides retail and wholesale wastewater service to approximately 34,000 customers in the City of North Charleston and nearby communities, with a service area of approximately 60 square miles. The gravity main (SGM-04718) is a 12-inch cast iron pipe (CIP), that was constructed in 1968. The timber pipe support structures are in poor structural condition and in need of replacement. SCOPE OF WORK Currently, there are eight (8) support structures over "dry" land, and three (3) support structures over Filbin Creek, supporting the 12-inch CIP. The span over Filbin Creek is approximately 20 feet in width. Existing pipe pile supports consist of: 14"x14" timber bent caps four feet in length, with 8"x12" blocking, and two (2) 25-foot 10 T timber piles per support. This design proposal should account for the replacement of all aerial pipe supports
