The South Carolina Department of Transportation herein referred to as “SCDOT” is soliciting sealed bids from interested companies to supply treated timber piling in lengths of 25 feet and 35 feet to Marlboro County. All work shall conform per the specifications here in. A. TREATED TIMBER REQUIREMENTS 1. Treated Timber Piling 12 inch minimum thickness X 35 Feet in Length 2. Treated Timber Piling 12 inch minimum thickness X 25 Feet in Length 3. Bridge Timbers, Salt Treated – 16 Ft X 3 IN X 8 IN 4. Provide treated timber piling conforming to the requirements of the S u p p l e m e n t a l T e c hn i c a l S p e c if ic a ti o n s f o r T i m b e r P ile s [ S C - M - 71 1 - 1 ( 01 / 23 ) ] a nd the July 2022 Supplemental Specification – Section 707 Preservative Treatment of Wood Products. Treat piles in accordance with AWPA U1, UC5B with CCA 2.5 pounds minimum net retention. Minimum penetration of waterborne preservative shall be 3.5” or 90% of the sapwood. The diameter of the pile shall be 12” minimum and 20” maximum measured 3’ from the butt and an 8” minimum diameter at the tip (See Attachments).
