1. General Description The scope of work includes: • The complete demolition and disposal of one (1) vacant structure located within the City limits. • The structure is approximately 1,000 square feet and is in a state of advanced deterioration. • The bid amount shall include all labor, equipment, materials, and services necessary to fully complete the work described. 2. Specific Work Requirements • Demolition and Removal o Remove all construction materials above and below grade, including collapsed debris, partially upright structures, footings, foundations, and any buried materials. o On-site materials include rotting wood, broken glass, siding, shingles, and general construction debris. o Demolish and dispose of all remnants of the original structure in accordance with applicable laws. • Utility Termination o All underground utilities (water, gas, sewer) must be properly disconnected and sealed at the street right-of-way. o The work shall include the removal of all buried pipes and infrastructure associated with the former structure. • Site Access and Vegetation Clearing o Due to limited access, the contractor may be required to: ▪ Remove or trim overgrown vegetation and vines. ▪ Remove small-to-midsize trees that have grown into previous access paths. ▪ Perform bush hogging and stump/dead tree removal to facilitate equipment access and ensure thorough site clearing. • Site Restoration o Following demolition and debris removal, the lot must be: ▪ Cleared of all remaining debris and vegetation. ▪ Leveled with clean fill and seeded to promote ground cover and prevent erosion. ▪ Left in a clean, safe, and stable condition suitable for future use or redevelopment. 3. Environmental Responsibility • The contractor shall be responsible for all environmental assessments, testing, monitoring, and/or disposal associated with the project. • Any hazardous materials discovered during demolition must be handled in compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations. 4. Permitting and Coordination • The contractor is responsible for obtaining all necessary permits, including demolition permits and utility disconnect authorizations. • Coordination with City staff and utility providers will be required prior to the commencement of work. 5. Final Deliverables • The contractor shall leave the lot clean, level, and seeded, with all debris and overgrowth removed. • Final site inspection and approval by City staff will be required prior to project closeout. 6. Timeline • Bidders shall submit a proposed project start date and timeline for completion as part of their proposal.
