Lot 1: Chlorine (Liquid) Shall meet AWWA Standard B301-04. Chlorine shall be practically pure and anhydrous. Lot 2: Fluoride/Fluorosilicic Acid (Liquid) Shall meet AWWA Standard B703-06 and have NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) approval for use in potable water. The specific gravity shall be 1.21 density. Shall be delivered by commercial motor freight or by private company truck that is NSF approved for the Fluorosilicic Acid product. Samples shall be tested on site prior to unloading and loads that do not meet the strength of solution requirements, have suspicious odors, or visible discoloration will be rejected. A certificate of weight and a certificate of analysis must be provided with each shipment. Lot 3: Anhydrous Ammonia (Liquid) Shall meet AWWA Standard B305-06. May contain traces of Nitrogen and Hydrogen. Shall be delivered in bulk and in minimum loads of 200 gallons. Shall be delivered by commercial motor freight or by private company truck and delivered to the loading platform at the plants. A certified weight ticket must accompany each load delivered. Lot 4: Aluminum Sulfate (Alum) Shall meet AWWA Standard B403-03. Shall be approved by South Carolina State Board of Health for use in drinking water treatment. Shall have a density of 36º to 36 1 /2º Baume. Shall be supplied in LIQUID form in approximately 3,000 to 6,000 gallons per truck load. Shall be delivered by commercial motor freight or private company truck and delivered to the loading platform at the Plants. Price shall be based on a ton of dry Alum (17% ALS04) basis. The City of Columbia reserves the right to analyze the material upon arrival and reject it for failure to meet one or more of the above specifications. A certified weight ticket shall accompany each load delivered. Lot 5: Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) Shall meet AWWA Standard B501-08. Shall be approved by the S.C. State Board of Health for use in drinking water treatment. Shall be in LIQUID form and in a 50% solution. Shall be supplied in lots of approximately 3,000 or 3,500 gallons. Shall be delivered by commercial motor freight or by private company truck and delivered to the loading platform at the plants. Trucks delivering the Sodium Hydroxide shall be equipped with pumps and manned to unload into receiving tanks at each plant without help from plant personnel. A certified weight ticket shall accompany each load delivered.
