Restore two (2) World War Two (II) era Japanese Type 95 Field Guns Cannon Wheels (4). The two (2) guns wheels are badly deteriorated and are in need of restoration before they lose their value as historical artifacts.
Scope: Conserve the two (2) cannon’s wheels as required by MCO 5750.1H (Manual for the Marine Corps Historical Program) and Depot Order 5750.4. The MCRDPI Museum is tasked with maintaining and protecting heritage assets held by the Depot. The cannons are part of the museum's interpretation of Marine Corps history. The cannon features are viewed in training by recruits as well as interpreted for Marines and other visitors. The restoration work on the cannons is required to halt the deterioration of the artifacts.
The government’s intent is for the actual replication of the wheels to be cast and new aluminum wheels made. The vendor shall be responsible for pickup of one of the wheels to use as reference for the cast and delivery of the new wheels within approximately 8 weeks from / to the Museum to Bldg 867 aboard MCRDPI
This Requirement is for the four (4) cannon wheels only.
