Specifications include, but are not limited to: Grave liners shall be constructed out of concrete. Manufactured out of coarse aggregate, fine aggregate, Portland cement, water and add mixtures. The quality of the concrete shall be checked regularly. Portland comment is typically Type I, II, or Type Ill in winter months. Cylinders shall be tested quarterly and in accordance with Test Method C39. The concrete must conform to ACI 318 and shall meet a minimum strength of 4500 psi within 28 days. Normal size of the concrete grave liner measurements will generally be 30" x 86". In some cases, oversized casket may be required; therefore, an oversized grave liner would also be required. The liner is designed to minimize weight and pass the functional load test as well as other loads the product encounters during manufacturing, transportation, and interment. The date of manufacture shall be inscribed into the concrete grave liner base and cover. Liners will be delivered to the cemetery as directed by the cemetery superintendent or the superintendent's designee no later than 1.5 hours prior to scheduled interment. A minimum notice of 24 hours will be given to the Contractor. Normal operating hours for the cemetery is Monday through Friday, from 8:00AM – 4:30PM, except on official Federal or State Holidays. There shall be no additional charges should circumstances occur to require delivery on a holiday or weekend. The cemetery staff will assist the Contractor with placing the casket in the grave liner prior to lowering. Lowering of the grave liner will be performed by the Contractor’s Staff. Grave liners will be interred with a proper specialty trailer for the transport and lowering of the grave liner. Upon completion of the interment process, all graveside equipment will be returned and stowed on the truck. The truck carrying or towing the specialty trailer for transporting the grave liner from the truck to the grave site shall remain on the paved road to prevent damage to the cemetery grounds. Liner transport equipment shall weigh no more than 4000 lbs. gross axle weight, and preferably equipped with flotation tires. When wet/muddy conditions exist, as determined by the Cemetery Superintendent or Foreman, Vendor must use planking/mud tracks/boards to get into burial areas.
