Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Security Services Contractor will be responsible for providing armed security guard(s) to perform patrol services 16 hours a day, 4 days a week (Monday afternoon – Friday morning from 4:30pm – 8:30am), on foot, on the South Carolina Commission for the Blind’s (SCCB) Columbia campus at 1430 Confederate Avenue, Columbia, South Carolina, 29201. The SCCB will give the Security Services Contractor at least a 2 week notice for time periods when services are not required (e.g., some holidays or times consumers are not on campus). The contractor shall provide services in accordance with accepted security practices and standards to ensure a safe environment for the employees, consumers, visitors, and the general public. This includes maintaining a safe and secure working environment free from violence, improper or disruptive behavior, intimidation, and to the protection of all facilities and equipment from loss or misuse. Security guards will be responsible for the prevention of damage and loss of property or harm to personnel by monitoring for vehicle accidents, fire, theft, damage, destruction of property, trespassers, criminal activity, chemical spills, power outages or any person conducting themselves in an unsafe or unruly manner. These specifications cover the minimum requirements for furnishing all labor, material, equipment, supplies and transportation necessary to provide these services.
