In support of the San Diego Regional Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 19, 2022, and
National Bike Month in May, the SANDAG iCommute program will award grants of up to $3,000 to
eligible applicants for programs or projects that promote biking through outreach and education.
Eligible expenses will include the purchase of bike lockers or permanent bike racks if they are incorporated as part of a larger bike education effort. This will allow organizations to encourage people biking to businesses, for example, by holding an event and installing a safe place for people to leave their bikes while they shop, eat, etc.
Eligible applicants include cities in the County of San Diego and the County of San Diego; community based and nonprofit organizations; colleges and universities; business improvement districts; main street associations; and chambers of commerce. Public and private K-12 schools and San Diego County school districts are not eligible but can partner with a CBO or non-profit organization to serve as the applicant/Grantee.
