Specifications include, but are not limited to: a) The selected firm shall complete data acquisition through site visits and empirical analysis of existing conditions within the Square and its surrounding area. Data acquisition should include the review of socio-economic population statistics provided. b) By current and historic US Census data and available State and Federal labor statistics (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, etc.). c) Key informant interviews will be conducted with municipal staff and elected officials, local businesses, the East Providence Area Chamber of Commerce, local non-profit stakeholders and other property owners who have a vested interest in the economic vitality of the Study Area. d) The selected firm shall conduct an assessment of the visual, cultural, community and economic assets of the Study Area along with an inventory of existing infrastructure and current multimodal and streetscape elements and physical assets and deficiencies within the identified project area. e) A public workshop shall be held at a convenient location within the study area to solicit public input under the data acquisition and analysis process. All workshops associated with this study will be scheduled and advertised by the City. The consultant will handle the presentations at the workshops and summarize all comments received
