Specifications include, but are not limited to: Westerly Public Schools currently transports approximately 2,750 out of 3,400 registered students to public and non-public schools in Twenty Three (23) 71 passenger Type C buses, Three (3) Special Education-Wheel Chair Equipped Bus Type B, and One 54 passenger Wheel Chair Type C. Four (4) Special Education Type A Passenger Bus and Three (3) 8 passenger vans. Non-public school students are transported within Region IV as stated in RIGL 16-21.1-2, the County of Washington and the towns of Jamestown and West Greenwich. Special Education buses transport to the other districts as assigned by the District’s Director of Pupil Personnel. Contractor Owned Fleet: The contractor shall provide Westerly Public Schools with a complete list of buses to be used in each contract year, including spare buses, enumerating the body number, chassis number and registration number of each bus to be used in providing service as well as the make, model, year, fuel type, and seating capacity of each vehicle. If vehicles are to be purchased to fulfill this contract, a letter from the sales agent or vehicle distributor as to vehicle description(s) must be enclosed with the Bid.
