The project (the “Project”) includes, but is not limited to: completely replacing ten (10) bridges (bridge nos. 065601, 065701, 066001, 066401, 066501, 066601, 066701, 066801, 061901 and 068001) removal of four (4) bridges (bridge nos. 065801, 066201, 066301 and 067501), completion of two (2) bridges from a previous contract (bridge nos. 065901 & 066101); reconstruction of the retaining wall along I-95 southbound at Byfield Street and Detroit Avenue; temporary and permanent utility relocation; modification and installation of traffic signals; installing new signs and sign structures; reconstructing, replacing, and/or installing drainage structures; design of and executing catenary reprofiling of the Amtrak OCS under bridges 0660 and 0665, disconnecting the existing Amtrak OCS system from the existing structures, modifications to the highway drainage on I-95 in the vicinity of Eddy Street and Thurbers Avenue to segregate the highway drainage from the NBC system; resurfacing I-95 from Blackstone Street to the Service Ave overpass; upgrading all existing median and roadside barriers/guardrails within the project limits to current MASH requirements; resurfacing and roadway/ramp reconstruction along Route 10 from Frankfort Avenue to Elmwood Avenue; reconstruction of Route 10 from Elmwood Avenue to Park Avenue implementing a road diet creating a shared use path connecting Park Avenue to Elmwood avenue along the previous Route 10 corridor; installation of high friction surface treatments along ramps and curves on I-95; upgrading lane striping for compatibility with autonomous vehicles. Other work shall include and is not limited to: drainage construction, landscaping, highway lighting replacement, noise mitigation, handling and disposing of contaminated materials.
