Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Rhode Island, on behalf of its Student Affairs Division, University Dining Services Department (hereinafter referred to as “URI” or “the University”), is seeking bids from experienced and qualified vendors to supply the University with grocery, refrigerated, and frozen foods. In soliciting bids, it is the University’s intent to establish a “Prime Vendor Contract” with the objectives of: ● Providing a consistent, high quality product ● Reducing shortages/outages ● Reducing inventory carrying costs ● Reducing administrative costs ● Improving services and efficiency ● Providing flexibility of menu items ● Containing food costs ● Participating in rebate programs ● Sustainability ● Consistency for nutritional information purposes
