Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of North Kingstown Rhode Island is requesting bids to purchase a new tri-band mobile radio for a new ladder truck due to arrive in the coming months. The mobile radio purchased through this bid will primarily operate on the Rhode Island Statewide Communications Network (RISCON) as authorized by the Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency and will be used by fire department personnel performing a variety of tasks including firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, technical rescue, marine operations and administrative tasks. The goal of this project is to increase firefighter safety by providing fire department personnel with reliable standards-based communications equipment. This purchase includes one tri-band (700/800Mhz, VHF, UHF) remote mount mobile radio with a single control head and a 700MHz digital vehicle repeater system plus five (5) Portable Radio Vehicle Chargers compatible with the department’s existing fleet of Motorola XTS Series Portable Radios and the Motorola IMPRES battery system.
