Specifications include, but are not limited to: The primary goal of this project is to increase the percentage of low to moderate income Providence residents (100% and under of AMI) who have access to free legal representation when facing eviction from their homes. The legal representation afforded to tenants as part of this program should lead to quantifiable improvements in outcomes compared to tenants facing eviction without representation. Desired outcomes include, but are not limited to:•Increased percentage of tenants maintaining possession of their home•Decreased percentage of cases that result in default judgements.•Decreases in the average amount of money tenants owe to landlords at the end of eviction proceedings.•Increases in the percentage of tenants who maintain eligibility for subsidized housing after eviction proceedings.Additionally, the city intends, through this pilot, to collect qualitative and quantitative data to determine what resources and programmatic elements are needed to guarantee meaningful eviction defense services to all Providence residents.The Cityof Providenceis seeking proposals to provide direct services to residents who are currently experiencing or who are at imminent risk of eviction. Interventions should be targeted at low-and moderate-income residents who are most vulnerable to eviction. Successful applicants will describe their plans to meet both the primary and secondary goals of the city.Additionally, applicantsshould provide an estimate of the total costper caseof providing legal support to a tenant.
