Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Installation of a GSI practices (e.g. bioretention cells and/or swale, street trees, etc.) along the western side of Pine Street between Goff Avenue and Main Street. A specific design goal will be to implement a variety of treatment and other design practices, which will enable the City to gain experience managing each type of feature, and assess their relative value. A minimum of four unique practices (e.g. BMP type, plant selection, pretreatment method, etc.) shall be incorporated into the design. 2. Installation of a mixed-use path, or separated cycle track and sidewalk, for multimodal transportation access along the western side of the street segment noted above. It is the City’s intent for the GSI features to serve as the physical barriers separating bicycle and pedestrian traffic from vehicular traffic. 3. Installation of permanent educational signage illustrating the benefits of the practices installed, preferably utilizing the standard format developed by the RI Green Infrastructure Coalition (see sample in Appendix G). 4. Installation of other structural best management practices (BMPs) throughout the District, insofar as the construction budget will permit following completion of Items 1- 3 on this list.
