Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.Only the common varieties of adult game or ring-neck pheasants will be accepted.2.Adult pheasants shall be delivered live, healthy, and free from disease and any physical defects as determined by inspection of pheasants at any time. All birds shall be of uniform age and color.3.Adult pheasants shall be a minimum of 16 weeks of age for delivery in October and 18 weeks of age for delivery thereafter.4.Adult pheasants shall be in good natural body condition and weight:a)Not less than 3 pounds for the cock birds.b)Not less than 2 ¼ pounds for the hens.5.Pheasants shall be full-winged, full plumaged and capable of maintaining strong flight. Beaks shall have natural conformation at time of delivery. 6.Pheasants shall be suitable for immediate release and capable of maintaining themselves in the wild.7.Adult pheasants shall be delivered with cocks and hens in equal ratios.8.All pheasants to be supplied from out-of-state vendors must be fromU.S. Pollorum-Typhoid and U.S. Avian Influenza clean flocks. Certification must be provided to the Department of Environmental Management, Division of Fish and Wildlife prior to shipment.
