Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Rhode Island Public Transit Authority (RIPTA) is seeking a qualified contractor to provide a complete and integrated remote monitoring system with related equipment for its pilot Battery Electric Bus project. The project is intended to help RIPTA 1) Monitor Battery Electric Buses and provide system alerts in real time; 2) compare performance of its Battery Electric buses to vehicles in its existing fleet; and 3) remotely manage Battery Electric Bus charging activity in order to optimize utility demand charges. RIPTA reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to conduct interviews with the proposers. A. The Contractor shall provide a complete and integrated real-time remote monitoring system with related equipment. The contractor shall furnish, deliver, and install items integral to the complete and functioning system. Proposals must contain a project schedule. Items shall be provided to RIPTA inclusive of license, software and firmware. B. Associated monitoring hardware will be installed on six buses and three depot charger units that will be capable of real-time communication via either: 1. Cellular connection furnished by the Contractor 2. WiFi connection furnished by RIPTA at RIPTA’s Elmwood facility Note that RIPTA uses Verizon and has a signal boost system.
