Specifications include, but are not limited to: A.Contractor shall furnish all facilities, labor, materials, tools, supervision, transportation, and equipment necessary to perform removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) as specified herein and as shown on the attached Field Sketches. ACMs have been identified throughout the former terminal building. A detailed list of ACMs is located in the attached Table 1 in Appendix 1. B.A pre-demolition survey was performed to identify and quantify ACMs. This survey included the collection of readily accessible suspect ACMs and subsequent analytical testing and included the use of destructive or invasive sampling procedures throughout the majority of the building. Laboratory data reports of these analyses are provided in Appendix 1. Select areas could not be thoroughly assessed due to a portion of the roof collapsing. Given this limitation, ACMs may be present within portions of the former Terminal Building that were not readily accessible. All material will be disposed of as Bulk ACM from areas where it was unsafe for GZA to enter to conduct sampling (identified on Field Sketches). The results of this survey are provided as attachments to these Specifications for informational purposes only. The Contractor is responsible for verifying and determining their own quantities and removal/disposal of all ACM as described herein and outlined in Table No. 1 in Appendix 1. C.Asbestos removal Work includes, but is not limited to, proper cleaning, removal, collection, containerization, characterization, on-Site management, transportation, and off-site disposal of ACMs as outlined in Table No. 1 – Confirmed Asbestos- Containing Materials included in Appendix 1 and as identified by the Contractor. The Contractor is responsible for identifying and verifying ACM quantities requiring removal and disposal. Given the limitations of the pre-demolition survey, described above, the referenced table is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all ACMs potentially present within the former Terminal Building. D.The Contractor shall perform all ACM characterization sampling prior to off-Site transportation as necessary for proper disposal at facilities pre-approved by the Owner. All waste characterization samples shall be analyzed by one of the following laboratories: 1.Test America, contact: Dan Falcone (781-296-6155) 2.Alpha Analytical, contact: Joe Foley (508-898-9220) 3.ESS Laboratory, contact: Heather Masse (401-461-7181) E.The Contractor shall conduct ACM disposal in accordance with ACM characterization results and these Specifications and all applicable, federal, State, and local regulations.
