I. Purpose Providence City is seeking proposals from qualified ISA Certified Arborists or firms specializing in urban forestry to conduct a comprehensive tree inventory and develop a tree management plan for all city-owned trees located in public parks, cemeteries, and along public rights-of-way (park strips). II. Project Objectives • Develop a GIS-compatible inventory of city-owned trees. • Assess tree species, size, health, location, and maintenance needs. • Identify potential risk trees requiring mitigation or removal. • Recommend planting opportunities for future canopy expansion. • Create a Tree Management Plan with prioritized recommendations for short- and longterm maintenance, risk mitigation, and species diversification. III. Project Scope A. Tree Inventory • Inventory all trees in: Zollinger Park, Alma Leonhardt Park, and other city parks; Providence City Cemetery; Street trees on city-maintained park strips and rights-of-way • Data Collection to include (at a minimum): GPS location, Species identification, Diameter at breast height (DBH), Tree height (approximate), Canopy width, Overall condition rating, Maintenance needs (pruning, removal, monitoring), Risk rating based on ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualification (TRAQ) standards (if applicable) B. Tree Management Plan • Summary of current tree population structure and condition • Risk analysis and prioritized maintenance recommendations • Five-year maintenance plan by category (routine, urgent, cyclical) • Recommendations for tree planting, species selection, and diversification • Guidelines for tree protection during city construction activities • Budgetary estimates for ongoing tree care and replanting efforts • Suggestions for community engagement, volunteer programs, or Tree City USA certification (if desired)
