Specifications include, but are not limited to:Snowplowing refers to the clearing of snow from a location by movement and/or piling of snow at or near that same location. Snow removal refers to the loading of plowed snow onto trucks and dumping at another location. Sanding and/or de-icing and/or ice control refers to sprinkling or covering the ground with sand and/or salt or a de-icing agent so as to cause ice and snow to melt and/or to make the ground less slippery. The Vender must have all equipment and personnel necessary to plow and remove snow as required in this RFP, and bidders responding to this RFP are required to list that equipment on the “Equipment Information” sheet (Appendix A). The Vendor must comply with all applicable licensing and permitting requirements for this type of service. A copy of all required local, state and/or federal (if applicable) license(s) or permit(s) must be submitted with the RFP response. Submission of a bid is acknowledgement that any and all work performed in relation to this bid will be performed by personnel holding the required valid local, state and/or federal license(s) and/or permit(s). The Vendor must maintain 24-hour/7-day-per-week communication equipment, including both mobile and office phones, and must provide emergency contact numbers in order for court personnel to direct operations before, during and after a snow event. All snowplowing, snow removal, and sanding/deicing must be completed before 7:30 a.m. seven days a week. Snowplowing is to be automatic when depth of snow reaches three (3) inches. Any snow shoveling for accumulation of snow less than 3 (three) inches will be at the request of the agency only. The grounds to be serviced at each location by the Vender include all public access area walkways, including sidewalks, steps and handicap walkways and ramps, as well as parking lots, all of which must be cleared of snow prior to 7:30 a.m. Building superintendents will contact awarded vendor after 7:30 a.m. if determined vendor needs to be called in. The entire width of the sidewalks must be cleared around the buildings. There must be automatic snow removal from any area that prevents access to sally ports (i.e., secured, controlled entryways) or reduces access to sally ports.
