Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor must maintain 24 hour/7 days per week instantaneous communication equipment (cell phone) and office phone in order for City personnel to direct operations before, during and after a snow event. Parking lots, fire lanes, etc must be cleared and passable before, during, and after hours of operation of the facility in question per the requirements set forth at each specified location within these Contract Documents. Snow removal must be completed on or around all parking spaces, handicap parking spaces, fire lanes, traffic control gates, taxi stands, bus parking spaces, RIPTA bus travel lanes and drop off/pickup locations as necessary and/or as directed by city personnel. Prior to or at the onset of each storm, city personnel and awarded Contractor will consult and plan for any storm event which requires snow removal and/or surface treatments. Upon notification, the Contractor will continually remove snow and/or apply deicing materials in order to provide safe walking and driving surfaces throughout the duration of the storm event. The contractor shall not pile or dump snow onto sidewalks, walkways, stairways, curb cuts, handicap entrances, fire hydrants, or around trash cans or other sidewalk appurtenances that may block or hinder access to any area. The contractor will be required to remove any snow they have placed on these areas at the direction of the City at no additional cost. All snow/ice must ultimately be removed to bare pavement (ie asphalt, concrete, etc) following the conclusion of a snow event.
