Specifications include, but are not limited to: Security services at the College of William and Mary, an institution of the Commonwealth of Virginia,. The College requires Security Officers to augment law enforcement and security services provided by the William and Mary Police Department. Contract Security Officers should work a variety of events. Contract Security Officers shall be unarmed and shall not possess any restrain devices or less than lethal weapons of any kind. The request for security services may come from the William and Mary Police Department or from another department within the College. Security Officer services are required to protect both people and property for the following types of events: Event (planned) Attendance Athletic events 500 – 12,000 Special events 200 - 14,000 Dances and parties 50 – 500 Individually assigned static posts varies Events (unplanned) Fire watches Construction zone perimeter maintenance Student Health standby Emergency incident on campus
