Specifications include, but are not limited to: Rhode Island weather is known to vary by region throughout the state. Therefore, DCAMM personnel will coordinate Cranston, RI weather forecast information with the vendor for each snow event and determine how and when the vendor shall mobilize and provide services. When a winter storm or weather event is forecasted or nearing the Rhode Island region, the contractor shall mobilize for snow removal operations for the Pastore Campus only if they communicated and received a request or instructions from DCAMM personnel to perform service. The contractor shall not be paid for services not requested by DCAMM personnel. The contractor must maintain 24 hours/7-day week communication equipment by providing cell phone and office phone for the DCAMM personnel to direct operations before during and after and event. Contractor must have the capability to respond on-site within one (1) hour. Parking lots, fire-lanes and entrance gate lanes must be cleared and passable for employees twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days a week. Under no circumstances should a contractor neglect to clear a parking lot until the next day after the event. Plowing should occur throughout the event. Snow/ice removal and/or call backs for de-icing/plowing, not occurring during an event shall only be performed when pre-approved in writing by Facilities Management and shall be compensated at the rates bid. Pre-Treatment of parking lots and sidewalks will be reimbursed as Additional Services and will only occur if requested. If the State adds lots during the snow season, the additional lots will be reimbursed as “Additional Services”.
