The Housing Authority of the City of Providence is currently accepting bids from qualified vendors for the Dexter Manor Hot Water Boiler Replacement project located in Providence, RI. The contractor shall furnish all labor, material, equipment, transportation, supplies, services, incidentals, and other resources required to complete the work. Omissions from the contract of details of work that are necessary to carry out the intent of the contract shall not relieve the contractor from performing the omitted work. The winning vendor shall coordinate with the Providence Housing Authority to schedule all work. The Providence Housing Authority Dexter Manor Hot Water Boiler Replacement project is located at 100 Broad Street, Providence, RI 02903. The scope of this project is to modify the existing domestic hot water plant currently serving the residential units. All work must be completed per the design plans prepared by Verdantas (Appendix E). The work encompassed in this project shall include, but is not limited to the following: • Remove and dispose of the existing hot water storage tanks, boilers, and associated piping. • Install Qty. Two (2) New PK N2000MFD Boilers (2000 MBH). The new boilers will be purchased by the PHA. • Install Qty. Four (4) New Turbomax 120-9A-200 Reverse Indirect Water Heaters. The new heaters will be purchased by the PHA. • Provide all associated piping for Qty. Four (4) new reverse indirect tanks and Qty. Two (2) new boilers. See piping diagrams on the Design Plans (Appendix E). • Provide and commission controls to allow cascading heater control and circulation pump sequencing as shown on the Design Plans (Appendix E). • It is the intent of this design that the dual boilers are redundant in function, allowing one boiler to support the system without the support of the other. • Notes: o Existing hot water boilers are non-operational. o The system is currently on a temporary boiler. o Hot water must be restored at the end of each workday, while the project is ongoing.
