Specifications include, but are not limited to: Section A: Pre-schematic Design 1. Review the results of the University’s Transportation and Parking Master Plan and conceptual plan for Plains Road developed by Pare Engineering. Then consult with Office of Capital Projects, Campus Planning & Design, and other URI offices to review various campus initiatives including future development on University property, campus-wide signage program, landscape and stormwater master plans, etc. Conceptual budget for reconstruction is between $2-3 million for this approximately 3,650’ long section of roadway (see attached order of magnitude estimate). Section B: Final Design 1. Schematic Design (SD) Phase a. Class 1 Boundary Survey (including wetlands flagging) b. Utility Survey c. Topographical Survey d. Advance Section A pre-schematic design concept to SD detail e. Preliminary coordination with RIDEM and effected utilities f. Prepare SD level construction estimate (engineers estimate using RIDOT WAUP) g. Facilitate value engineering session with Owner to confirm final scope 2. Design Development (DD) Phase a. Advance SD plans to DD phase within budget constraints b. Finalize landscaping/hardscaping details for consideration phased implementation and/or bidding alternates. These items may include traffic calming measures, wayfinding signage, parking restriction measures, and related items. c. Complete RIDEM, RIDOT, State Fire Marshal and State Building Code Commission permitting 3. Construction Document (CD) Phase a. Advance DD plans and contract documents to CD phase b. Prepare CD Estimate based on RIDOT WAUP and external pricing for specialty items 4. Contract Administration (CA) Phase a. Bidding support b. Weekly emails & misc. correspondence c. Biweekly site meetings d. Change order management e. Project completion certification
