Tips For A Successful Vendor Profile on Bidnet Direct

Did you know that government buyers can see your company information within your organization’s bidnet direct profile? Participating purchasing agency members can search all registered vendors through filters such as location, NIGP code, keyword(s), and company name for quick quotes, research pre-RFx creation and more. In addition, buyers can view your profile when looking at which suppliers downloaded documents, responded after the bid closing and through running reports. So, it is incredibly important that your organization’s profile be accurate and provide as much detail as possible. Here are some tips to improve your vendor profile.

Make certain key data is up-to-date

Sometimes changes happen, but please remember that with change comes remembering to update your profile. Did your business move offices? Are you now using your cell phone number instead of your work number? Is someone else in charge of your account? It is extremely important that all of this information is kept updated, as this is the information participating buyers will use to contact you.

Important note: Use the My Organization section to update your company information; however, if you have multiple contacts with different locations and phone numbers, you will need to update that information within the My Contacts section. Once logged in, both sections can be found under the “person icon” where all your account information is located.

Certifications matter

Are you a certified MWDBE? Or a have Veteran owned or small business designation within your state? Make certain that you fill out all the information to include any certifications or designations that government buyers are looking to find. Many such as small businesses, disadvantaged, veteran owned or minority owned businesses. Ensuring that this information is filled out in your profile allows buyers to see that your company has specific certifications or designations setting you apart.

Stand out from the competition

Within your organization’s profile, there is an optional section to add your logo, upload sell-sheets or brochures and even add a product/service video. This Enhanced Advertising Profile is an extra way to have your company stand out from the competition and be seen by buyers. When you have the enhanced profile, you can also add references of existing government contracts, a full company description and highlights of the products or services that you offer.
