Which Bid Opportunities Are the Best Fit for My Business?

Are you interested in bidding on government opportunities but having trouble finding the right matches? This can be a common struggle for many suppliers, as there are thousands of opportunities published across the United States every month. Select Your NIGP Categories

After registering as a vendor, you’ll start to set up your bidding profile. Part of the set-up process includes a section to add your “Working Categories” which are your NIGP categories. NIGP categories are unique codes that are used to identify the products and services your business sells, so you can get matched with the right opportunities. You can scroll through the list and select all the ones that apply to your business, or type in keywords such as “landscaping” or “mowing” to find them quicker. All the government opportunities we find have NIGP categories attached to them, so any time an opportunity comes into our system, if it matches any of the categories you’ve selected, you’ll be notified and can immediately start reading the documents and specifications. If you’re interested in the opportunity, you can hit the “Follow” button to receive notifications when updates occur or when the bid is close to closing.  

Add Keywords and Other Filters

Searching for bids by keywords is also a great way to find matches quickly. On Bidnet Direct you can enter keywords into the Solicitation Search to find matching opportunities. Our “Save Search” feature allows you to save that search and go back to it at any time to see if any new opportunities have been issued in that category.

You also have the option to search by additional criteria to help narrow down your search even further. Search by specific location, organization, solicitation type, closing date, and more to find exactly what you’re looking for.

Receive Daily Email Notifications

Included in your bidding profile is an option to also receive daily notifications of federal, state, and local bid opportunities. Click the “Preferences” section, select email or phone, and then click the check box that says you want to receive these notifications. This is one of the best ways to stay on top of your bidding goals and to never miss out on an important opportunity. By selecting all your NIGP categories and keywords, you will receive daily email notifications whenever we find bids that match your products and/or services.
