Government Bid focus: Police Equipment in New York

The state of New York has over 250 local government procurement teams issuing solicitations directly on bidnet direct. The main NIGP category code for Police, Prison and Security Access Equipment and Supplies is 680. This main category has many sub-category codes to select from to ensure that you are only getting relevant bid notifications. However, depending on the products or services you sell to police departments, you may also want to include other categories such as 98156, Police Equipment Supplies Rental or Lease or 93657, Police Equipment Maintenance and Repair. Using the easy keyword category search, you can find all matching categories by either your product name or a keyword such as “police” is simple to access once you are registered within your bidnet direct organization profile. Having the right categories, will ensure that you receive notification of matching solicitations. 

You can also set up saved searches for other police equipment that you are thinking about selling to get an idea of the market. You can use the advanced search features to drill down by state, or even a specific county within a state, keyword, NIGP category codes and more.
