Statement of Work
1. Description Of Work:
The work includes furnishing all personnel, equipment, materials, tools, supervision,
labor and other items necessary to perform the removal and disposition of the existing
corroded steel columns in the designated houses. The designated houses (7 each) are the
following: B6, C3, C4, H2, H3, M6 and T2. These columns are located at the first floor
back balcony. The project includes the installation of new galvanized steel round
columns, base plates and appurtenances as shown on the attached drawings.
2. The work consists of, but is not limited to the following:
a) The existing steel columns and base plates shall be removed with all the safety and
structural requirements. Remove any old concrete and clean the area to
accommodate new columns and base plates. Add temporary supports as shown on
reference drawings prior removal of the existing columns. See attached drawings.
b) Add new steel round columns including welding, grinding, primer and two coats
of paint similar color as existing.
c) Add new concrete anchor bolts and base plates. See attached drawings.
d) Add new non shrink grout for base plates and any additional concrete as required.

e) The Contractor shall repair any damage as a result of the Contractor's actions
without additional cost to the Government.
f) The Contractor is encourage to request a “site visit” to verify existing conditions.
g) The Contractor shall protect the work areas as needed and keep them clean.
h) The Contractor shall comply with all local and federal environmental
requirements including the removal, recycling, reuse and/or disposition of the
existing steel.

i) The Contractor shall provide a project schedule prior project start.
j) The Contractor shall provide submittals for the new items to be installed.
k) Some of the existing houses are occupied by tenants. The Contractor shall
coordinate with the USCG Rio Bayamon Housing Facilities Engineering
Department (FED) and the Rio Bayamon Administrative Staff for the houses to
be worked. In general all work is located in the porch area with access from a
back door (see attached drawings). It is expected that the Contractor have all
materials, labor and coordination ready prior to work on each house.
