The U.S. FDA, San Juan Laboratory in the Office of Regulatory Science, Office of Medical Products, Tobacco, and Specialty Laboratory Operations is a Pharma Specialty Laboratory. The San Juan Laboratory uses a wide variety of instruments, injection styles, and detection techniques that provide the versatility needed to perform a large variety of analytical methods. These methods require a wide range of analytical conditions.
For this reason, the laboratory needs to acquire a replacement versatile multipurpose autosampler capable of direct injection, headspace, sample dilution, and mixing to take the place of an older two-part system that includes a direct injection autosampler tower and a separate headspace oven/autosampler. The multi-sampler increases sample throughput, will allow for multi-mode variable injection volumes and will be able to run methods for different injection types (e.g. direct injection and head space injection) automated and sequentially without additional instrument configuration changes. The new multi-sampler will be used for the analysis of pharmaceutical active ingredients and different matrixes of finished medical products and associated research.
