Scrap rubber tires, vehicular, with/with-out rim located at or near Fort Buchanan, PR. Generally, scrap material sourced to the resulting contract(s) is considered safe to sell and have no additional restrictions by this Agency. The scrap material issued under this contract shall be assigned a Demilitarization Code of A and will be categorized into the SCL(s) listed below.
A scrap tire is any tire that has been removed from its original use and includes all whole scrap tires and pieces of scrap tires which are readily identifiable as scrap tires by visual inspection. Government scrap tires are further defined as scrap tires that have pre-drilled holes in the side walls due to safety concerns with certain make and model of tires. Over the term of the contract the Government guarantees to issue a minimum of 150 tons and up to 450 tons.
