Project Title: Georeference 1951 maps
USDA Forest Service required service of scanning and georeference 487 historical paper maps of land cover for Puerto Rico. Deliverables will include 1) image files, 2) image files that have been georeferenced to the projection of the original maps and 3) returning the maps to the International Institute of Tropical Forestry (IITF) library.
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 541370 Surveying and Mapping (except Geophysical) Services and the size standard is $16.5M.

Contractor Requirements
Scan and georeference the 487 maps. Send the image files and the georeferenced image files to the IITF point of contact. Refold the maps and return them to the IITF library care of Maya Quiñones, International Institute of Tropical Forestry, 1201 Calle Ceiba, Jardín Botánico Sur, San Juan, Puerto Rico 00926-1119 (Telephone 1-787-766-5335).
Requirements/Credentials
- Expert knowledge and experience scanning and georeferencing historical topographic maps and land-cover maps.
- Experience scanning and georeferencing large numbers (>10,000) of United States Geological Survey topographic maps.
Size of Maps - 20” x 30” approx.
Dots per inch - Minimum 400 dpi
*The maps are folded and somewhat delicate, but they are not degraded.
