Specifications include, but are not limited to:PLANTING REQUIREMENTS Dead shrubs will be removed (pulled by hand) prior to planting new stock. Dead stock will be removed and discarded on-site but not on the existing weed barrier. Rooted stock may be planted with a tiling spade or “dibble” bar into existing fabric slots if the slot is relatively weed free. If the current slot is occupied by weeds, a new slot will be cut into the fabric approximately 1 ft. in either direction from the current slot. See Figure 2 for planting guidelines using dibble bars. The rooted shrub stock will be planted in a vertical position with the root collars approximately ½-inch below the soil surface (see Figure 1). The planting hole must be deep and wide enough to permit roots to spread out and down without J-rooting or L-rooting. Trim straggly roots of bare-root stock as needed to prevent J-roots, L-roots, broken roots, or wadded roots that may result from "stuffing" too many roots into the planting shoe. Do not over trim roots. Figure 1. Arrangements must be made by the successful bidder at least 24 hours prior to pick up
