Specifications include, but are not limited to:Radar System: Must be a model that is in full production. Current design and manufactured equipment must reflect the latest technology available. No used or demonstrated equipment will be accepted. A . Radar Description: The design of the radar unit must use state-of-the-art technology including Ka-band operation with all digital signal processing performed by a Digital Signal Processing (DSP) microprocessor. The unit must have dual target zone capabilities that allow the radar to monitor four target zones in stationary or two target zones in moving mode simultaneously. The DSP microprocessor should allow for future software upgrades. The system shall include, but not be limited to, the following components: Front antenna and antenna cable. Front antenna must be Ka-band and be of construction to make it completely waterproof. Front antenna cable must be 10 – 12 feet in length and must have quick release connectors on the both ends of the cable. Front antenna bracket. The front antenna bracket must be capable of mounting to the vehicle with a bracket system or to the windshield with an adhesive mount. Both types of mounting solutions must be provided. Brackets that use suction cups to attach the antenna to the windshield are unacceptable. Rear antenna and antenna cable. Rear antenna must be Ka-band and be of construction to make it completely waterproof. Rear antenna cable must be 25 to 30 feet in length and must have quick release connectors on both ends of the cable. Rear antenna bracket. Rear antenna brackets must be of a deck mount/pedestal type or to the rear window with an adhesive mount for the sedans. Both types of mounting solutions must be provided. Vendors must provide a mounting solution for the rear antenna on the SUVs and pickup’s. Brackets that use suction cups to attach the antenna to the rear window are not acceptable. Display/counting unit, with power cord. Preference will be given to display/counting units that can be separated. If the display/counting can be separated, then any interconnect cables must be included in the bid and supplied with the delivery of the radars as part of the deliverables. Vehicle speed sensing. The unit must have vehicle speed sensing capabilities. The cable must be included in the system price and provided with every order. Remote control. Remote control must be included and have the ability to control the primary functions of the radar as determined by the NDHP. Vendors must offer a wireless solution for the remote. At a minimum, the remote control for the radar must control the following functions: Select/switch front or rear antenna Select/switch moving or stationary mode (if not automatic) Transmit and hold signal for each antenna Fast target speed (if not automatic) Lock target speed Internal test Backlit buttons
