Specifications include, but are not limited to: Provide insight into the current beliefs, perceptions, disposition and priorities of North Dakota soybean producers and gain their input on current topics of importance. Work collaboratively with the North Dakota Soybean Council (NDSC) to ensure a comprehensive database of farmers in the state are secured in which to execute the research project; Ensure that the insights revealed through the research are accurate and statistically representative of all soybean producers within the state, including small to large operators, young and seasoned producers; Conduct four producer focus groups of 5-6 participants each in order to interview a total of 20-30 soybean producers that are representative of the diversity of producers in the state; Topics to be covered in the focus groups will include: a) Perceived opportunities and challenges; b) Awareness of NDSC programs; c) Preferred communication methods; d) Perception of the checkoff program and its value to the soybean producer. Conduct a statistically-valid telephone survey of 300 soybean producers throughout North Dakota to provide feedback on the effectiveness of the NDSC key initiatives, and to identify emerging industry issues of interest and concern to ND soybean producers.
