Specifications include, but are not limited to: East Corinth and remainder of the Roxbury quadrangles at 1:24,000 scale: (50%) The study areas for new surficial geologic mapping are shown on Figure 1. The area to be mapped is ~100 square miles and includes parts of the towns of Roxbury, Northfield, Newbury, Topsham, Bradbury, and East Corinth. The goal is to produce surficial geologic maps of the quadrangles with a cross-section and collect data which can be used to produce groundwater resources maps and hazard maps at a scale of 1:24,000. Sieve analyses for a minimum of 20 samples will be conducted. All mapping will use a Lidar base map and will be produced in ArcGIS and exported as pdfs. Data will include lithologic contacts of surficial materials, bedrock outcrops locations, glacial features, detailed descriptions of map units and a report with a discussion of the glacial history of the quadrangles. Data files will be delivered as shapefiles using the format of the State of Vermont, will be GeMS compliant (federal digital geologic map data standard) and will use standard map unit nomenclature supplied by the State. In collaboration with the State, produce Phase 1 GeMS-compliant digital data for the surficial geology of the Huntington quadrangle.
