Specifications include, but are not limited to:The work comprises Air Conditioning Equipment Replacement – Small Unit and any listed associated work to the Grand Forks Public Library building located at 2110 Library Circle. This work includes the replacement of one of the air cooled condensing units for the building. It should include all labor and materials necessary to produce the required construction and/or equipment replacement. GENERAL 1. All work shall be in conformance with City of Grand Forks Code Requirements. A copy of said code may be purchased at the Grand Forks City Building Inspection’s Office. 2. Bids will remain subject to acceptance for 60 days after the bid opening. 3. The Grand Forks Library shall be notified at least 3 week prior to start of any work. The scheduling of all work shall be completed with Wayne Springer at 701-772-8116 from the Grand Forks Public Library, before initiation of work. 4. All work for this project shall be completed 90 days after bid acceptance date. 5. The Contractor will be responsible for payment of any legitimate claims made by other contractors working within the area who have incurred a loss as a result of Contractor's failure to complete the work of this project by the specified completion date(s). 6. Contractor will not be entitled to any compensation for causes resulting in delays or hindrances to the work. Extensions of time will be granted for unavoidable delays, which in the opinion of the Engineer are clearly beyond the control of the Contractor, including but not restricted to acts of God, or the public enemy, acts of the Owner, acts of another contractor in the performance of a contract with the Owner, fires, floods, epidemics, quarantine restrictions, strikes, freight embargoes, and abnormal and unforeseeable weather. The Engineer must receive a written request for time extension from the Contractor not more than 20 days after commencement of delay before any time extension will be considered. Requests made beyond the 20-day limit will be cause for denial. Any extension of time will not relieve the Contractor or his sureties from their obligations, which shall remain in full force and effect until the satisfactory discharge of the contract. 7. Insurance, cleanup, and any other miscellaneous items necessary to complete the project shall be considered incidental to the contract. 8. Contractor shall protect all utility and communication lines and shall maintain continuous, uninterrupted service throughout the project. Any additional costs to provide continuous communication service throughout the project shall be incidental to the contract.
