Specifications include, but are not limited to: Capital School District is seeking a consultant/firm to facilitate the strategic planning process and revisit the existing goals and vision for the school community and update the plan for the next five years. The completed long-range plan should serve as a guide for the school district to make decisions aligned with the district mission. It should also align with the requirements from the State. In short, the strategic plan should serve as a framework to make future decisions concerning Capital School District. Consultant/firm should ensure that: • Processes used are well researched and proven effective in a variety of sectors, including education and others. • Process ensures diverse stakeholder perspectives representative of the community are engaged in multiple ways. • Process employed to develop the plan is formalized and structured to ensure stakeholder collaboration and learning. • Process enables participants from different backgrounds and experiences to develop a shared language and understanding of the problem • Plan focuses on a high leverage path forward. • The process ensures authentic, independent input from all stakeholder participants (the plan is created by the stakeholders from the community, not by the consultant). • Roles and responsibilities for plan development and plan implementation are clearly delineated at all levels of the system, including but not limited to the school board and staff.
