Specifications include, but are not limited to: Increasing literacy proficiency for all students in grades PK – 3 through improving support for struggling schools, improving data systems, and supporting school leaders and teachers in providing a robust system of professional development including training and coaching, along with other methods for improving teachers’ skills and knowledge Early Literacy and the Common Core State Standards. Decreasing the percent of students with disabilities in grade 3 that score below proficiency on the statewide assessment. Developing deep expertise within schools to improve student outcomes, build teacher/administrator capacity, deepen literacy instructional skills, strengthen implementation of the Common Core Standards, and ensure the sustainability of a MultiTiered System of Academic Supports.
