Specifications include, but are not limited to:Measure both axial expansion and contraction in a borehole • Be able to send a measurement to a datalogger to be stored and downloaded at a later date • Deformation meter will measure 10 feet in length in its initial position • Deformation meter will have flanged ends with a maximum diameter of 4 inches • Include an additional 160’ of cable length to reach a datalogger. Thermistor Strings A thermistor string is used to measure temperature at multiple elevations in a borehole. The Thermistor String will meet the following requirements. • Measure Temperature in a borehole. • Be able to send measurements to a datalogger to be stored and downloaded at a later date • Have a minimum range of -20°C to + 80°C. • Consist of 15 thermistors spaced at 1 foot intervals. • Include an additional 160’ of cable length to reach a datalogger. Vibrating Wire Piezometer VW piezometers are used to monitor pore-water pressure in the borehole. The VW piezometers are also capable of monitoring temperature. The VW piezometers will meet the following requirements: • Measure pore water pressure and temperature in a borehole. • Be able to send measurements to a datalogger to be stored and downloaded at a later date • Have a minimum temperature range of -20°C to +80°C. • Include an additional 160’ of cable length to reach a datalogger. Vibrating Wire Data Logger The Vibrating Wire Data Logger will collect and store the measurements of the other instrumentation to be downloaded at a later date. The Vibrating Wire Data Logger will meet the following requirements: • The data logger must be able to monitor and store the readings from 2 deformation meters, 2 vibrating wire piezometers, and 2 thermistor strings each consisting of 15 individual thermistors. • The data logger must be programmable so that readings will be taken at a specified time interval. • The data logger must have its own power source external power will not be available. • The data logger must be compatible with a Nautiz X7 Handheld computer running Windows Mobile version 6.1
