Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Local DNA Database must include at a minimum the following requirements: Accreditation The laboratory must be ASCLD/LAB accredited or recognized equivalent. Any other accreditations should be listed and detailed. A copy of the most recent accreditation certification should be included in the proposal. Experience/Capability The laboratory must be capable of processing samples from a multitude of different sources with varying turnaround times as deemed necessary by the customer. This experience should be documented and detailed. The laboratory must provide a history of providing these services to other law enforcement agencies. Sample Collection/Packaging The main collection source will be swabs. The laboratory must supply collection swabs, packaging materials and evidence envelopes. New Castle County should have the option to customize evidence envelopes to fit business practices.
