Specifications include, but are not limited to:The North Dakota Game and Fish Department (NDGF) wishes to complete a draft book that we have had in hand for nearly 20 years. We are engaging appropriate individuals to complete the book. Skills and qualities sought included: 1) demonstrated writing skills, especially with “popular” type literature, not scientific writing; 2) knowledge of waterfowl and wetland ecology, management and conservation; 3) knowledge of and familiarity with North Dakota history, especially relating to conservation and natural resource issues; 4) ability to research and document historical records and events; 5) demonstrated ability to complete tasks in a timely manner; 6) willingness and ability to dedicate the required amount of time to the task of completing the book. The project will result in a publication consisting of written text, photos, artwork and appropriate data that will tell the history of waterfowl in North Dakota. Work for this project will include several components: The First Draft (approximately 500 pages) needs editing and rewriting and restructuring. Additional sections need to be researched and written to bring the text up to date. Photos, maps, artwork and related materials need to be researched, located, labeled and compiled for inclusion in the final document. Data needs to be compiled and organized into charts, graphs, tables, maps and other formats for inclusion in the final document. Suitable text for a “Foreword” and similar sections need to be created. The entire work needs to be compiled and edited into a final draft document. The book needs to be designed with appropriate page layouts, pagination, chapter and section headings, artwork, cover, index, table of contents, etc. Editor will:
